Zippered Cushion Covers Small

Zippered cushion covers – Even children do not need a pillow to sleep (in fact, most books recommend placing them on their mattress without one), colorful pillows can be useful to help them learn to sit without waving or decorating the nursery. Pillow slides for infants should be hypoallergenic and should use flame retardant fabric

Instructions

Choose flame-retardant fabric that feels soft at touch and is visually appealing. Bright colors, nursery themes rhymes or other prints make the crib or nursery area attractive and stimulate a child’s development vision. Measure the zippered cushion covers. Cut two pieces of fabric 2 inches wider than the mat on the pillow and 4 inches longer.

Pinch the zippered cushion covers straight, matching the edges. Sew round two long sides and one short side with a straight stitch or basic sewing machine stitch, leaving a short end open insert the pillow. Turn back 2 inches short side (still holding pillowcase wrong side out). Press this back on the cuff with an iron heated to the correct temperature for the fabric. Tuck about 1/2 inch of the rough edge below, forming a skirt. Press the iron with iron and fasten. Leave the pillow wrong side if you are sewing by hand and turn the right side out if using a sewing machine. Use a straight stitch or base stitch to sew the needle in place.
